Privacy.

Last updated 11 August 2026. This site is run by Alissa Lang Ltd. Questions or requests: [email protected].

The short version: the checks run in your browser and your result appears instantly either way. Anonymous answer patterns may be stored to improve the checks; they are never linked to your name, email, or IP address. Your email address is only stored if you ask for your result by email, and it is kept separately from the anonymous answers.

The checks themselves

Every check on this site is scored in your browser. Your result is shown on the page immediately and does not depend on anything being sent anywhere.

After a check completes, an anonymous record of the answer pattern may be stored so the checks can be improved and reported on as aggregate statistics. That record contains: which check it was, the answers chosen, the resulting system and level, the optional category you picked (work, relationship, and so on), and the date. It never contains your name, email address, IP address, or the time of day.

If you type anything into the free-text box, identifying details are removed automatically on the server before storage: email addresses, phone numbers, links and postcodes are stripped, and names are reduced toward initials. Only the redacted version is kept; the original text is never stored or logged. The page also asks you to use initials rather than names.

Email me my result

If you choose to have your result emailed to you, your email address and the text of your result are stored so the email can be sent. This is kept in a separate store with no link of any kind back to the anonymous answer records.

The perimenopause check

The perimenopause check can optionally collect anonymous, aggregate research information. That collection is explained on its own pages, and any contact details you choose to share there are kept structurally separate from the anonymous data.

Cookies, fonts and hosting

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and runs no third-party trackers. Fonts are self-hosted, so no font provider sees your visit. The site and its data are hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure; Cloudflare processes technical connection data (such as IP addresses) to serve and protect the site, as any host does.

Some result links lead to emotionaldownshift.com, which is run by the same company and works the same way.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and withdraw any consent you have given. For the anonymous check records there is nothing that can be connected to you, which is the point of them. For anything involving your email address, one message to [email protected] is enough, and it will be actioned promptly. You also have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.

One scope note, repeated from the checks themselves: this site offers self-reflection tools, not therapy, diagnosis, or medical care.
